I'm Drew Napolin, an independent life insurance broker based in Orange County. I specialize in placing coverage for people other brokers have turned away.
The Story
Why I went independent.
I started in life insurance at 22, right after finishing my accounting degree at Cal State Fullerton. My first job was as a captive agent with John Hancock. That meant I could only sell their products.
The problem was clear almost immediately. Most of what I had to offer was whole life insurance, which is overpriced for the vast majority of families. I watched clients walk away because I couldn't give them what they needed.
So I went independent. No captive contracts, no quotas for products that don't serve people. I work with dozens of carriers now. When a client comes to me, I find the policy that fits their situation, not the one that fits a sales target.
That's been the model for four decades: the client comes first, I come second, and the insurance company comes last.
For most families, term life insurance is the right starting point. It's affordable, straightforward, and does the job. I'll tell you that upfront, even though whole life pays me more.
The Specialty
Cases other brokers won't touch.
After forty years, I know which carriers approve people with diabetes, high blood pressure, higher BMI, and histories that make other brokers nervous. I've placed clients who were declined elsewhere, sometimes multiple times.
My method is simple: before we submit any formal application, I run informal inquiries with underwriters at multiple carriers. No commitment, no record on your file. We find out who's going to say yes before we ask.
That means fewer surprises, better rates, and no wasted applications dragging down your insurance history.

I work primarily by phone, video, and email. You don't need to drive anywhere or take time off work. When it makes sense, I'm happy to meet in person at your home.
